  • Hello GutsyInnovation,

    As a rule, you can see such error message when the windows registry is corrupted (old records were left after uninstalling Office). For example, you could uninstall the x64 edition of Office 2010/2013 and install the x86 edition anew. It seems to be a problem of the Office 2010 x64 uninstaller, which does not remove the x64 COM registration properly. Is this the case?

    If so, you can try to rename or remove the following key:

    HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

    Please see the ProgId values for Office applications below:

    Office Server CLSID key
    Access.Application {73A4C9C1-D68D-11D0-98BF-00A0C90DC8D9}
    Excel.Application {00024500-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
    FrontPage.Application   {04DF1015-7007-11D1-83BC-006097ABE675}
    Outlook.Application {0006F03A-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}
    PowerPoint.Application {91493441-5A91-11CF-8700-00AA0060263B}
    Word.Application {000209FF-0000-0000-C000-000000000046}

  • You are the best. Installed Office 2013 last week and BANG!!! with this issue. Called Microsoft up and wanting to charge me $80.00. I was just about to uninstall office 2013 and go back to my old faithful 2007.

  • Thank you! I am glad to hear that re-installing Office helped to fox the issue.

  • I have followed the above but no luck this occurred a few days after I installed 2016.

    This is what happened before the error:

    Un-installed 2013 x86 and installed 2013 x64 - No problems

    Installed 2016 x64 - problems accoured a few days afterwards (Today)

    I have un-installed 2013 x64 and repaired 2016x64 - still has a problem

    I have un-installed 2016 and tried again but still no luck

    The problem is that I have some VBA code in Excel that is cousing the error when communicating with Ouotlook

    Set OutApp = CreateObject("Outlook.Application")

    Thank you

  • I had the same problem in Office 2016
    Try to change:
    Set OutApp = CreateObject ("Outlook.Application")
    To:
    Set OutApp = Outlook.Application
    It worked for me.
