Modal like control in WinJS

    Question

  • So, I need the user to wait for alittle bit while I go to the server and stuff... and I don't want him to go anywhere or do anything else...

I noticed that the MessageDialog shows the message and 'disables' everything else in my page. Can I do something like that myself? I need the control to show a pregress bar and I have that running with a Flyout, I want the user to wait! I want to gray out the whole page while I'm working... can I do that?

    Regards,

    Sebastián

  • Create a div that overlays the entire page (using a partially transparent background to produce the dimming effect), then have that div catch any and all page interactions thereby making it appear modal to the rest of the app. You can put any other content in the middle of the div, of course, that isn't dimmed.
