Developer Tablets for people that were not lucky enough to go to build

    Question

  • I really like the Samsung tablet shown at Build and have been looking for a device like this. Where can we buy a developer tablet pref one that you can dock and supports multiple monitors like the one shown. It would be nice if App hub subscribers could purchase a device.

  • Thank you for your interest in the Samsung Windows Developer Preview PC. The Samsung Windows Developer Preview PC itself will only be available and distributed to developers who are at the //BUILD event.

  • Microsoft has no plans to make available additional tablets like those distributed to BUILD attendees.  We can't make a specific make/model recommendation, but there are a number of tablets on the market.  To run metro-style applications, you will need a screen that is at least 1024x768 and an x64 or x86-based processor since there are no Windows 8 developer preview images for ARM processors.  Reports from community members' experiences may help you decide which one would be right for you.

  • Dell is supposed to have a Win8 tablet next year.

That's all I can find out there.

  • @A.Carter, Thanks for the tip, it looks like its only got a single HDMI output though. Do you know of any that do dual output like the build tablet?
