Worker role - port 80 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi folks,

I have created a worker role on Azure and it works fine. It currently listens to port 40000. However some corporate proxies  seem to be blocking urls with port numbers, so I am trying to move it to port 80.

The role deploys correctly but it can't be accessed by external clients. When I remote desktop to the target machine, I can query the service on internet explorer, however.

I have opened a thread on forum 'Managing Services on Windows Azure':

I am wondering whether the problem I am seeing is Casablanca specific?

Building an external facing worker role that listens to port 80 seems to be possible otherwise:
