Display iocn with same longitude and latitude. RRS feed

    Hello,

    I am using virtual earth map control v 6.1.

    I have xml file and i am displaying custom icon  in map with help of GEORSS. if xml file contains duplicate items(same longitude and latitude ) then it displays only one icon in map and i want to display all icon which have same  longitude and latitude or not from xml file.

     

    Please give me code if any one have.

  • You will have to implement clustering to be able to identify when two icons are overlapping. If your data is in a GeoRSS then it would be easiest to use client sisde clustering if there is less than 1000 pins in your file. An article on this can be found here: http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc161072.aspx  Once you have that then you can create an algorithm to display the multiple icons accordingly. Perhaps offset the icons aa few pixels in different directions. Another possible option is to try an incorperate the expanding icon from the following article: http://www.viawindowslive.com/Articles/VirtualEarth/ExpandingClusteredPinsinVirtualEarth6.aspx

  • Your other option is to build the "Icon on a stick" functionality. Place you pin slightly off to one side and draw a line to the actual location. Unfortunatly nothing like this is built into VE but it can be simple to do or very hard depending upon your data.
