Cannot delete Network List Profile

    Question

  • Hi,

    Cannot delete the Network list profile.

    Have to use regedit to delete the network list......!.....?

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\NetworkList\Profiles

    why is it taken out ?

  • Right click on the SSID in Settings | Network.  If there's a profile defined you should see a context menu with various choices including "Remove Connection Profile".  Select that menu item and you'll remove the profile.  Note that the SSID will still appear in the list of networks since your system can still see that SSID, but now when you right click you won't see the context menu (because there's nothing to change any more?).

    An alernative would be to use netsh wlan show profile and netsh wlan delete profile <name> commands to get what you want done.

  • Could you elaborate on what problem you are trying to solve and why you need to delete that regkey?
