Installation directory of MRDS RRS feed

  • Question

  • It seems that if I install MRDS to some directory not related to "My Documents", even though the DssHost.exe can start without errors or warnings, the web portal (e.g. http://localhost:50000) has empty pages for the "Home" and "Control Panel", etc. under the "System Services" section.

Is it really necessary to install MRDS under a sub-directory of "My Documents"? Or else how can I configure/fix the above problem?

    Thanks,

  • It is not necessary to install MRDS under sub-directory of "My Documents".

Could you try opening the dss command prompt and running "dsshost32 /p:50000"?

  • Thank you Harshavardhana!

As you said, it is not necessary to install MRDS under sub-directory of "My Documents". The original problem is due to older version of IE (Internet Explorer). Once I upgraded to IE 7 from IE 6, the problem disappeared.
