Excel 2013 Pivot Charts with SSAS RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi , We are using Excel 2013 as front end tool for SSAS cube. I want to build SSAS based report for Exec team in excel, dashboard like, and I d need to show stats by many dimensions (product, Vendor, customer)

    1. On one sheet, I'm copying /pasting 5-10 pivots (connect to my SSAS cube), but they all have own filters. Is there a way to specify/apply one filter to ALL 5-10 pivots (e.g. I select "Product" and all 5-10 pivots get updated/filtered by selected "Product")

    2. How do I create  Multiple charts per 1 pivot, with different data fields selection? (e.g. Pivot has sales by vendor a Customer, but chart 1 shows Sales by Vendor and Chart 2 shows sales by Customer).

    3. I'm also looking for a resource on best practices tips/tricks creating OLAP dashboards in Excel 2013 (without power pivot)?

  • Hi Brba,

For the first question, currently it seems that we cannot apply one filter to all the Pivot chart on one sheet. If you have any concerns about this feature, you can submit a feedback at http://connect.microsoft.com/SQLServer/Feedback and hope it is resolved in the next release of service pack or product. Thank you for your understanding.

For the second question, we can create multiple Pivot charts with different data field selection on one sheet. When clicking add Pivot chart, we can choose where you want the PivotChart to be placed on the new worksheet or on the existing worksheet. If we select “Existing Worksheet”, then we can create multiple Pivot charts with different data field selection on one sheet.

For the last questions, please refer to the links below to see the detail information.
