If you're email account isn't working in Windows 8

    Question

  • Folks

I got some kind of bizarre message about how my email account couldn't
validate or something like that inside of Windows 8.   Regretfully I
don't recall the exact text as I just ignored it and continued.

I later found the following email sitting in my email account inbox.
It looks like you added a trusted PC to your Windows Live account
(<email address snipped>). You can use this computer to reset your
    password if you forget it.

Trusted PC: <name of virtual PC>

If you added this computer, great! Use this link to confirm
    ...
If you didn't add this computer, cancel the request by using this link:

You may be receiving this message if you recently installed Windows Live
Essentials on one of your computers, or added a trusted PC to your
    account via https://account.live.com.

So how do I fix this after the fact. I had it all setup before I realized I needed to validate the machine/account.  Do I need to remove the account and readd it?

No, I just went into the email on my host OS, clicked the link and
signed in.   Now I haven't started up the Windows 8 session since then
because that functionality isn't what I cared about.   But I would think
    that's all it would need.
