How to purge Outlook 2013 Contacts & Addres Book? RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

I added some contacts programmatically using VSTO and this seems to have corrupted my contacts list and address book.  I tried to delete the contacts, remove the address book, create new profile, uninstall & reinstall outlook, delete some registry keys -- there is no way to purge these bad contact items, they always come back in the Contacts tab and my address book is always empty.

Can anyone point out to the procedure to follow to uninstall Outlook 2013 and purge the contacts & address book info completely?

    Configuration: IMAP email account

    Thank you

  • Hello,

It looks like they are stored on the server. You need to delete them on the server, not locally.

Got it.  I was able to purge the contacts from Outlook (and presumably the IMAP server) by emptying the trash.  Everything now back to normal
