HCK USB Topology Compatability Test for devices with embedded Hubs fails RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

    we test a product that we want to certify on Win8 and have problems with "USB Topology Compatability Test".

    The product is a external usb 2.0 device and has an internal embedded high speed hub with keyboard and smartcard reader function.

    The internal Hub in the device can't be removed.

    Topology for our device:

    USB cable -> embedded high speed hub -> keyboard and smartcard reader

    (pictures will follow)

    The  "USB Topology Compatability Test" must be performed 3 times.

    (for target "generic usb hub", "keyboard" and "smartcard reader".)

    I can't do the following four topologies with target "keyboard" and "smartcard reader", because that is impossible with the internal hub.:

    EHCI -> DUT

    EHCI -> High Speed Hub -> Full Speed Hub -> DUT

    xHCI -> DUT

    xHCI -> USB 3.0 Hub -> DUT

    How is the solution for this problem???

    (The parameter IsEmbeddedUsbDevice on True?)

    system informations:

    Server = Windows 2008 R2 Standard

    HCK Version = 8.59.29757

    Client = Windows 8 x86 and x64 RTM
