'Are you missing an assembly reference' compilation error suddenly appearing. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Without making any code changes, my  Lightswitch application suddenly lost its reference from the client to the server project. I am getting the following compilation error: 'The type or namespace name 'CDC_Data' does not exist in the namespace 'LightSwitchApplication' (are you missing an assembly reference?)'. Any ideas on what can be done to re-establish the connection to the Server project?

FYI, I am using Visual Studio Professional 2013 update 3.

  • Try going to the BUILD menu, select Clean Solution, and then rebuild.

It helped me in the past.

  • Nicolas, I have already tried that solution but unfortunately I'm still getting the same compile error. Thanks for your suggestion!
