Bluetooth question RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am trying to run the btsearch sample application on my iPAQ 114 PDA.  When I step through the code in debug mode I see that WSALookupServiceBegin(...) fails.

I have read several posts that say:

May be your device doesn't support Microsoft bluetooth stack but supports Widcomm bluetooth stack

how do I know which stack my device has?

When I look at the 'Bluetooth About' tab on my PDA it says:

    BluetoothTM for Windows(R) Mobile

    BT-PPC Version 1.8.0 Build 7000

    Copyright (c) 1999-2006 Broadcom Corporation.

If it does suport the Widcomm bluetooth stack then do I need a different bluetooth sdk??

  • Broadcom acquired Widcomm several years ago.  Based on your information, it looks like your PDA uses the Broadcom (former Widcomm) Bluetooth stack.  Broadcom does offer a SDK to its Bluetooth stack.
