  • General discussion

  • Hello,

I am using WF4.0 with MVC. Here i am using Custom activity for updating table. After that i have to redirect to my view. Normally working lfow is Controller --> Model--> WF. That means after Model only wf is getting executed. So, always i am getting old value. But my senerio is after executing WF , i have to load the model. Is there any way to fix this?

  • I'm not sure about your exact application, but it sounds like you'll need to use the services provided by the modelitem editing context to communicate changes between the workflow designer and the host; see the following article for information on using the modelitem editing context:

Workflow Foundation in .Net 4.0 doesn't include dynamic updating of running workflows, though- the closest you could come is using DynamicActivity, which is defined by deserializing XML at runtime. Dynamic update will be a feature of a future release of Workflow Foundation.

  • When you say MVC you mean ASP.NET MVC correct?

And in your model code you are calling into a workflow to update the database.  From there the database is updated but the state of your model is not so you have to reload the model from the database correct?

Just want to be sure I understand what you are doing.
