ReadCCCD throws an exception RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I have a metro app (8.1) which subscribes for value changed event of a BTLE device characterisitic (BatteryLevel). We noticed that the value changed event stopped firing after approximately 2 mins. But we did not see this behavior when we used the same code in a windows form application. We then introduced a timer in both the apps (Metro and win form) which would read the CCCD of the BatteryLevel characteristic on a periodic basis and noticed that the CCCD read fails (throws an exception "The attribute cannot be written") in the metro app after approximately 2 minutes whereas it works fine on the winform application.

    1. Why is the ReadCCCD failing in the metro app when it succeeds in the win form app?
    2. When the ReadCCCD fails, why does the exception say "The attribute cannot be written" when we are trying to just read it?

PS: Also, we notice that the Read CCCD returns "success" even when the device is disconnected. This doesn't seem like the intended behavior.

    Thanks, Soorya
