Windows Store App : Timeout Period Expired while connecting in Proximity C# Sample RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am working on a hobby project and am trying out the Proximity C# Sample from http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/windowsapps/Proximity-Sample-88129731

I have made no modifications to it.

I deployed it on 2 tablets.

They both are on the same subnet (connected via Wi-Fi to the same router).

I run the sample on both, and select 'advertise' on both. Then I select 'Browse For Peers', and I can see the other tablet.

From Tablet A, I select the tablet B, and click 'connect to a peer'. And on the tablet B, I click 'accept connection request' fairly quickly. However, on tablet A I get a message saying : Connection to <TABLETB> failed: This operation returned because the timeout period expired. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800705B4)

Sometimes on Tablet B, the 'accept connection request' doesn't even show up. Sometimes on tablet B, the timeout message shows up.

Does anyone have any idea why this is not working?
