I just bought "ASP.NET 2.0" by Stephen Walther, the author recommends to get a book in C# if I am not too familiar with C# language.  Not because I am not understanding the language, but because I may need to review some stuffs in C# later on.  So, can anyone please recommend me a GREAT C# book !!!

I recommend Programming in the Key of C# by Charles Petzold.

I read in the last couple of weeks 2 great books on C#:

    1- Microsoft Visual C# 2005 Step-by-Step
    2- Microsoft Visual C# 2005 : The Language

There is still the CLR via C#, which is a great e book to read.

So I guess those are good references to have a good understanding of C#.

    Hope this helps,

The C# book I like the best is O'Reilly's C# Essentials.  It is a small book < 200 pages.  The edition I have doesn't include C# 2.0 (nor 3.0, but it's not released yet).  I don't know if they have a newer edition covering C# 2.0 or not.

What I like about the book is that it is so concise.  No, it doesn't go into as much depth as other books, but that's what I like about it.  If I am trying to do something very specific that is beyond the depth of the book, all those specifics usually make it easy to search the web and find out how to do it.  It is the simple basics that return way too many and varied results when searching the web, that make finding their answers on the web more difficult, and this book is good for that.  I will say however, don't expect to pick this book up and learn to program.  It expects you to understand programming, and it certainly helps if you already know C or C++.

The books published by APress written by Eric Gunnerson are the best for learning C#! I love these! There's a second edition of the book. Also, the MS Press C# book is good too.

I used the Wrox book. It's called Beginning Visual C# 2005.
