Events not collected in diagnostic tools RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a .NET framework 4.6 WPF application running in VS 2015 pro.

While debugging the application, when I click "break all" there are no events that were collected to that point in the events tab of the diagnostic tools.

    How can I fix this?

  • Hi yoave23,

It would be related to the VS 2015 version.

I test it in my VS2015 Enterprise version with update 2 using a simple WPF app, I could get the following screenshot after the breakpoint was hit.

So you could check that whether you could get the "IntelliTrace" options, if not, it would no support it. Actually I test it in the VS2015 community version, it doesn't support this feature, based on the first screen shot, I think the VS pro version would not support it too.

  • Thanks for your reply. It's kind of misleading that VS pro suggests a video about Intellitrace when it actually doesn't support it (the video itself also doesn't mention anything about VS version required).

  • Hi yoave23,

Maybe it is a real issue, it shared the same video in all VS 2015's start page, I also get the video in my VS2015 community start page.

But if we open this Video.

    https://channel9.msdn.com/Series/Visual-Studio-2015-Enterprise-Videos/IntelliTrace-Experience#time=0s

We could get the information under it like the following screenshot.

    But it was not conspicuous.

    Like this MSDN document here:

    https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd264915.aspx?f=255&MSPPError=-2147217396

You can use IntelliTrace in Visual Studio Enterprise edition (but not the Professional or Community editions).

    Best Regards,

    Jack
