SSMA hangs while migration from Oracle to SQL

Hello,

I am migrating database from Oracle to SQL server 2012.

Everything goes fine until data migration.

Data migration hangs at 97%.

Is there any way(any logs?) through which I can check why it is hanging?

Additionally there any only tables in the database to be migrated.

Size of database about 45.5 GB.

No functions or packages.

Hi ManiC24,

Usually, SSMA records the logs and error messages of data migration in Data Migration report and output pane, you can check if there are any messages from there. The issue that SSMA hangs could be caused by several reasons, such as disk, network bandwidth, memory, row count,  size of the rows (how many columns, any large data types, etc.) and so on.

In your scenario,  you are migrating a large size of Oracle database to SQL Server, I recommend you perform incremental data migration as described in this blog. Also please reduce the batch size in SSMA to make a shorter duration transaction and increase data migration timeout value to avoid the issue that SSMA hangs.
