window.open() failed on Microsoft Edge RRS feed

  • I am write browser extension but on Microsoft edge, I am not able to open my ViewDetails.html on button click.

    ViewDetails.html` : this file present in my current directory.

     This is open function call.

    var myWindow = window.open("ViewDetails.html", "Details", "height=600,width=1200,modal=yes,alwaysRaised=yes");

    open function return : *SCRIPT16389: Unspecified error

    How can i resolved this issue...

    Which version of Microsoft Edge are you using? 

    I have tested the code on my side, it works well. You could try to clear the browser cache and cookie, then, recheck it. 

    If still not working, can you use F12 developer tool to navigate to related code which throw this error, and check them.

    1. Microsoft Edge 41.16299.1004.0

    Microsoft EdgeHTML 16.16299

    2. Microsoft Edge 44.18362.1.0

    Microsoft EdgeHTML 18.18362

  • Hi Zhi Lv,

    My extension have one pop window with button, On button click "ViewDetails.html" page get Open.

    This code well work on Chrome and Mozilla.

    Only issue with Microsoft Edge.

  • Try to use F12 developer tools to check whether it contains some error? 

    Besides, please check the Edge browser setting, make sure you are not disable the JavaScript. Also, you could try to reset the Edge browser setting.
