Service Pack Installation Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • The main program is installed and working OK on my D Partition (ie D:/Program Files etc), however whenever I run the service packs (1 or 2) they default to C:/Program files etc and the option to allow me to change directory does not work.

    Any suggestions would be welcome

    Thanks

  • Two possibilities I can think of.

    1:  Run regedit and go here:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\{5F8D931D-B230-47F3-A9C0-0C8CA459A332}

    and see if the value for InstallLocation actually points to your D drive instead of like this:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Expression\Web 4\
    It should point to your D drive, but if not.... change it and reboot the machine.

    2: download the update and extract it to a folder and see if you can edit the installer

  • Hi there,

    Thanks for the reply, unfortunately the folder you suggest looking for in the registry does not exist, so would appear that the installation omitted to include the uninstall information for some reason?

    Thanks
