Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\bin missing after VS2008 installation RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

After running the VS2008 installer and SP1 I realized that on my machine the folder "C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\bin" is empty. This is a problem because in order to compile some of our projects I need the rc.exe which, to my knowledge, should be located there. We have experienced the same behaviour on some other computers in our company. Does anyone know what influences this behaviour? I assume it is the bootstrapper that calls an installer that actually places the files in the v6.0A\bin folder but what is the condition that is required to actually install it?

  • Can you see other version of SDK in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows?

    For example check C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0\Bin.
