V4 Driver "Point and Print" and "Print-to-File" problem. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,

I have a Point and Print(PnP) setup involving two Windows 8 computers (one as the PnP server and the other one as the PnP client). If I print to file on the client computer (say from Notepad with the Print-to-File checkbox selected (or using PORTPROMPT)), Notepad will display a message box saying "The handle is invalid" after I type in the destination filename. Printing to an IP address works though. I want to use print to file because I need to examine the contents of the printed XPS output (ticket, content, whatever).

    Thank you.

  • I have resolved this problem by not using Print to File and by using an IP address..
