Acrobat could not open ‘pdf9c9.temp’.. when moved to another server RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,  I have successfully written some VB.NET code in a command button that exports the contents of a Report in a ReportViewer control to pdf.  However, when I move it to another IIS server, it appears to be hung up and produces the following message.  Has anyone seen this before?

Acrobat could not open ‘pdf9c9.temp’ because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn’t correctly decode).

To create an Adobe PDF document, go to the source application.  Then print the document to Adobe PDF.

  • I am having this exact same problem.  Did you ever find a solution for it?

    Thanks!

  • Hello,

I actually got past the problem.  I can tell you that we had to have the company installed Adobe Reader 8.0 on all our pcs company wide.  The Adobe Reader 7.0 would not work.

If that does not work, I will send you my vb.net code behind to sift through.

Do you know any good sites to learn more about this ReportViewer and how to build different style reports?
