Going bonkers here since NuGet won't install Microsoft.Owin properly. How do I manually reference Microsoft.Owin this in the web.config?
Other posts merely suggest using NuGet package manager (which won't work as Microsoft.Owin is already installed), or changing the app.config file (there is no app.config file in ASP.Net), so I'm stumped.
I've got an ASP.NET web forms app (sorry, not MVC, but the site has 2 million lines of code and we're not changing it to MVC any time soon) running DotNet 4.5

Have you tried using the update-package command in Nuget?

    Hi mc9000,

    1. ASP.NET Web Forms have web.config not app.config

    2. As @Mike suggested try updating the package

Updates specified package for specified project

    Update-Package Microsoft.Owin –Project ProjectName

    http://www.nuget.org/packages/Microsoft.Owin/

    3. if it doesn't work just remove and install the package again

    Uninstall-Package Microsoft.Owin
    Install-Package Microsoft.Owin

    http://docs.nuget.org/Consume/Package-Manager-Console

    Hope this works for you.

    With Regards,

    Krunal Parekh
