Close The App

    Question

  • So is it bad to have an option in the app to close/exit metro app? I've tested this option...

It works great to just use window.close(); kills the app and it's no longer in the Task Manager.

I'm just concerned this may not be the best practice.

    Any advice?

  • I would advise you wait for the next version!  Having your own unique way to close an app would not be advised.

  • It's probably best to let Windows decide when to PLM your app. The intended UX is that a user will either hit the Windows hardware button or swipe away from your app when they're done with you, and Windows will PLM your app when it needs memory. "Closing" an app adds an unnecessary user step to this flow.
