Can we have a static IP for the Azure Blob Storage RRS feed

  • One of our customers is asking for the static IP for the URL which we are using for the blob containers. Is it possible to obtain a static IP for the Azure Blob Storage Account?

  • It is not possible as of now, the Azure services have a dynamic IP and it can be a feature in the future.

    If you are looking for static IP, to white list the IP and to allow the requests to come in the network / server. There is one option you can try,  use the Azure Data Factory to copy data to or from the Azure Blob storage. Even the Azure Data Factory have a dynamic IP, but if you configure Data Gateway in VM, which will have a static IP, and Gateway is what is exposed to users to access, it internally redirect to the Data Factory.

    Requests --> Azure VM (Data Gateway) --> Azure Data Factory --> Blob Storage
