After I have finished sharepoint configuration, I tested default website in this desktop use localhost and it return the page I need. But when I use my own laptop which in a same domain to browse the desktop default website, it cannot access. I also try to ping the server but time out. I have turned off the firewall in the server but the situation remain. But I can logon the server by remote desktop.

  • how are you browsing the website from Laptop? using localhost or via desktop name?

to access the site... use the server (in your case desktop) name: http://server

try accessing the default sps admin (default port: 17012)... unless you had changed it: http://servername:17012
