custom color palette RRS feed

    Hello,

I'm looking at some instructions on how to create my own color palette for a column chart.

The documentation refers to a 'Edit Chart Value' dialog box.   I am using SSRS 2008.  Where is this box?  I want to eventually go to 'series styles' where I can then call a function that I created that gets the colors I defined.

    thanks

    Hi maggiemays,

    >> I also included this inside a class which I added as a reference and I still can't get to the code. It does not see it.  It is a public function.

According to your description I guess you just create a new class file that contains the custom method in your project.

But, if you want to define the custom function in SSRS, it would not work as yours. You’d should click "Report" option on toolbar and select "Report Properties..." from the drop-down, then select and open the "Report Properties" window. In the window, click on "Code" in the left navigation pane and define your own vb.net code into the right textbox. For more thing, please refer to below link.

    Hi maggiemays,

I'm looking at some instructions on how to create my own color palette for a column chart.

For building the custom color palette in SSRS, please refer to the section “To define your own colors on the chart using a custom color palette” in below article.

I want to eventually go to 'series styles' where I can then call a function that I created that gets the colors I defined.

For creating the custom Color series, you’d better follow below article to achieve this need by defining custom function.

I have read some of the same links you refer to. I am unable to access the public function 'getColor' - not recognized. I also included this inside a class which I added as a reference and I still can't get to the code. It does not see it.  It is a public function.
