No popup menu in Metro UI RRS feed

  • Question

  • In the Metro UI , using a mouse to move the cursor to the bottom-left corner, a popup menu will appear.

When I used a digitizer to do this, it did not happen.

The digitizer is in absolute coordination. This might be a hint, I guess.

  • When using a mouse, the 'charms' menu appears when you hover near the start menu location (bottom left in your case).

However, pen/digitizer is treated the same as touch. When using touch/pen, the charms bar appears when you swipe in from the right edge.

  • Even so. But would it not be more seamless if those two semantically identical menus were at the same place? Say, moving the mouse to the right edge and swiping from the right edge bring up the same menu. An option to switch the position of the charm menu I would also appreciate. Maybe this could be useful for left-handers.

(Hopefully anyone reads that suggestions despite the thread's 'answered' status)
