Windows recovery RRS feed

  • Question

  • I have a system that has been corrupted by the axel.dav virus.  It has gotten into the Recovery sector of the D drive.  Since the restore disks do not contain the full version of windows there is no way to recover to factory state without reinfecting the hard drive.  There is no windows xp home edition disk either.  Can you tell me how i can reformat the whole hard drive and perhaps use another xp disk to install xp without getting an error for illegal copy.  Or how i can clean the axel.dav out of the recovery sector of the drive.  This is a Gateway computer if that helps.

Thank you so much for your time
