  • Lary Roof and Dan Fergus "The Definitive Guide to the .NET Compact Framework" is a good start.
It's for the very begginers but it was written for WM2003SE devices and in VB (easy to start C# though).

  • "Programming Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Developer Reference" by Douglas Boling.

  • I was just about to mention the same book that Patrick did.  So all I can say is +1 for this book. If you are looking to do native/C++ development for Windows Embedded CE 6 this is the best book out there.  A lot of the concepts and code are also applicable to Windows Mobile (note: current versions of Windows Mobile are based on CE 5.0).
