Lock screen notification

Question

I have seen pictures and videos of windows 8 showcasing Lock screen notifications...But in my case whenever I try to add notifications as well as applications, it shows "currently there are no apps that can be shown on lock screen".. I have even tried after installing live messenger, skype, etc...

Also I am getting similar problem when trying to add application for its badge at lock screen.... Someone please help me out...

Also I wanted to know whether there are more metro applications available that can be installed or there are only preinstalled ones......Also is there anyway to edit image of metro tile of win32 app shortcut on metro start menu or change start screen background image...in previous videos it was purple but now its green so there must be some way I think.....

Hey there,

As this is the Windows Developer Preview, that feature may not be available.

I've tested to see if I can see a lock screen notification if I set an Alarm, and I was not able to see that. I believe this feature is currently not available in the Windows Developer Preview.

Not every application supports Tile and Badge notifications on the lock screen. This is something an application has to choose to implement. For more information, the Advanced Tiles Sample shows how to implement notifications on the lock screen:
