FPSE & Web Page Viewing RRS feed

I have two questions here.  Firstly, would anyone know why my website would begin asking me for a username and password just to view it?  I have Anonymous Access and Windows Integrated Authentication both active, nothing changed there.  The only difference was when I published the site from the server instead of a client machine.  Either way, I'm being asked for a username and password and would like to know how to fix this.

Second, how do I upgrade the FPSE so I can manage it?  I continue to receive an error stating: "The server administration programs and the server extensions on the Web server are not compatible. The server is too old to use with this administration program." whenever I attempt to upgrade the virtual server w/ FPSE 2002.

    The server is a WS2003 SBS SP2.

    Thanks.

    1)  Do you want to allow anonymous?  If so then you also need to make sure that IUSR_yourservername has NTFS Read permissions to the content files and folder.  Do you want to require authentication?  Then it's likely an IE configuration issue. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/258063

    2)  FPSE 2002 now uses a web based admin tool exclusively.  This happens from the IIS MMC?

    1. Yes I do want to allow anonymous access, they're just your average web pages with simple content.

    2. No, my error displays at the web based admin tool.  I attempt to "Extend" a server, and that's when I get the incompatability error.

    Thank you.

In regards to your second question, there is no upgrade to the FrontPage Server Extensions for the Windows Server 2003 platform.

However, a new release of FPSE supporting Windows Server 2008 and Vista is now available at http://www.rtr.com/fpse/

Please see the following for additional information.
