  • How to Restart or Shut Down a machine on User Logoff with FSLogix

You can set a machine to Shut down or restart when a user logs off with FSLogix.

    1. Open to the correct registry key.

While logged in as an administrator, type regedit in the search box or on a command line. Then navigate to the Profile Key.

    Computer\HKLM\SOFTWARE\FSLogix\Profiles

    2. Add the registry values here to restart or shutdown.

These values should be created as DWORD's. Add the value you are looking for and set it to one of the three options.

If both are enabled, then the computer will be rebooted when the user logs off.

RebootOnUserLogoff - Restarts the machine when a user logs off

ShutdownOnUserLogoff - Shuts down the machine when a user logs off

    0 - Disabled

1 - Apply to ALL users

2 - Apply to only FSLogix profiles

  • Can this be used on a terminal server, Prompting the reboot when the last user logs off? Or is this single user workstation scenario?
