Access Table Validation Rule RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am working on an application in Visual Basic 2010 with an Access 2000 database.

I fill the table using either an "Update" query or an "Add Into" query.  One field in the table is giving me a peculiar problem. The field is a "memo" data type with the "Allow zero length" set to "Yes" and the "Required" set to "No".

This code works perfectly for the "Insert Into" query but throws an error "Invalid Argument" when the "Update" query is run.

The code in a Data Base Class that I use is:

        oData.objCmd.Parameters.AddWithValue("@Comments", txtComments.Text)

The fact that it works in one mode and not in the other really has me confused.
