Windows Authentication Login screen with out RIA RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    I am trying to create a login screen in silverlight where the user would enter their AD username/password. This info has to be validate and user logs in.  Also SL will be installed as out of browser, so the logic still should work.

    How can I do this?

    I dont want to use RIA services.

    Thanks

    abe

  • This will not work for me.

    What I did is create a login screen capture the user name and password, pass it to WCF service and in the WCF service i used directory service object to validate the user, it works out ..

    using (PrincipalContext context = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain, "lipixdev"))
                {
                    return context.ValidateCredentials(userName, password);
                }

    using (PrincipalContext context = new PrincipalContext(ContextType.Domain, "yourdomain"))

    {
        return context.ValidateCredentials(userName, password);
    }
