Error Message displayed when try to launch Outlook using Microsoft Outlook 2016. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

    System Environment as below:

Windows 2007(Chinese simplified) 64 bit PC, Installed and configured Microsoft Office 2016 32 bit (and also tried 64 bit version) and Our Application supports 32 bit.

When i am  trying to launch Microsoft outlook through "Mail Recipient", am getting the Microsoft Outlook error as below even i set the Outlook 2016 as default mail client.

"Either there is no default mail client or the current mail cannot fulfil the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client."

Because of the above error in our application "MAPISendMail()" API returns MAPI_E_NOT_SUPPORTED error value but it has to return 1.

Our application is clearly working with MSOffice 2013 and 2007 except 2016.

can any one help me what is the root cause for that above error and how to solve the above issue?

  • Are you sure the bitness of Outlook and your app match? Did you explicitly build your app as x86 to match the Outlook bitness (32 bit)?

  • Hello Shruti,

Do you get any error message when you do the same operation manually? Just try to send any document from any other Office application. Is there any errors?
