    Hi,

What error message did you get? I assume that user cannot login into your application after deployment.

It seems that the error message is "Login failed for username". If so, please make sure you configure connection string correctly, using Window authentication or SQL authentication.

i have configured the wb.config to add the aspnetdb in the app_data folder in the runtime

if it go to the folder i can see that new "aspnetdb" is created.

i hosted the site in the "localhost". whn i am trting to open the "login.aspx"  iam getting the following error

Cannot open user default database. Login failed.
    Login failed for user 'pC200\ASPNET'.
File activation failure. The physical file name "D:\iHealth\Personal\Knowledege Base\net projects\OnlineDairy 3.0\App_Data\aspnetdb_log.ldf" may be incorrect

i have modified the virtual folder to "Impersonate". still i am getting this error.

Any idea how to resolve this would be more helpful

    Hi,

    Thanks for your response.

To use impersonation, you need an account with password that can login this database.

You can also add the 'pC200\ASPNET' to database new Login in this case. For more information, see http://devilswork.wordpress.com/category/sql/

    Thanks.

    Hi,

If the server also has SQL Server express edition, you can directly upload the .mdf file (which is in the app_data folder) to server.

If there is not SQL Server express edition on server, you can attach the database file to SQL Server full edition or create new database on it.

You can also connect to a SQL Server Express Edition database just like you would connect to any SQL Server database by specifying the database server as the local SQL Server Express Edition data source.

    For more information, see http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms247257.aspx

    Thanks.

from the above tutorials i can understand that we need visual express 2005 (free) to deploy a site.

is there any way to deploy a site without using vswd 2005 and upload to a ftp server.

     Any ideas..

    Hi,

Where did you want to load? If you want to deploy it on share host server, you can use host server company's control to upload website. You can ask your host server company for help.

For more information, see ASP.NET Deployment Overview (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb398992.aspx).
