Integrating Windows Live Messenger Connect with HealthVault application for authentication RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are creating HealthVault application which will be used for linking of users. We wanted to use Windows Live Authentication for authenticating users. The is to avoid the credentials being entered again once the user is authenticated. We have tried to use Windows Live Messenger SDK, but users have to enter the credentials again to login to HealthVault.

We used Windows Live Web Authentication SDK which provides Uid after authentication. But we want to pre-populate the user details like first name, email etc which can be achieved by Messenger SDK.

Is it possible to use Windows Live Messenger SDK for HealthVault authentication? Please help ...

    Thanks in advance

  • I don't believe this is possible with Messenger Connect.  HealthVault uses the normal login.live.com sign-in page, but Messenger Connect applications must go through the consent.live.com sign-in.

If the user is signed in via Messenger Connect, they will currently still have to sign in to login.live.com to use HealthVault, which seems to defeat the purpose of authenticating via Messenger Connect in the first place.
