Can't Open XPS file. RRS feed

  • Question

  • When I attempt to open an .xps file, Internet Explorer opens and provides the following error message: "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" [Diagnose Connection Problems].  How does this have anything to do with "Connection Problems"?

I wanted to create and view .XPS files on this winXP machine as I do on my Vista machine.  When I attempted to open the first .XPS document, I was prompted to "...download and install the Microsoft .NET Framework?" [Install Now]; so, I did.  When, I still could not open the file I went to windows update and updated my .NET Framework and when that didn't work I attempted to Install XPS Essentials, but apparently it cannot be installed on a win xp sp3 machine.  Is this really this difficult? Suggestions please. thank you.
