I have an object that I want to pass into a workflow web service RRS feed

  • Question

  • and I define an arguments.cs file (and class) that I add to the service project. one of the video's on channel 9 indicates that the class and properties have to be set up as a data contract but I can't get the compiler to recognize the datacontract or datamember tags. but I can still do a search by type and find the class as namespace.arguments and at that point I can reference data.op1, data.op2 and so on. While this works is this the right way to do this?

    My reason for doing this is I need to pass an object to the wf web service as initial input...

  • Hi,

    You will need to attribute the class as a DataContract and properties as DataMember for the object to be serializable in WCF.

    THese attributes are in the System.Runtime.Serialization namespace, make sure you have a referane to that DLL, and:

    using System.Runtime.Serialization;

    in the class file.

    Alan
