How are you introducing users to your app's features and workflows?

While using my app, it occurs to me that the new app framework does not support the compiled help files of old.  I have put in tool tips for all of my apps controls, but I worry that some users may still not know what to do.  How do you expect your users will find out about your app's features?  Are you programming anything extra to introduce them to your features, and if so, what tutorial features will your app include?

I have the same issue with my app.  Complicate concepts that don't lend themselves to easy to understand icons. 

The answer I have been given from several sources is to expect users to use the app bars (top and bottom) and the charms bar for searches, settings, and about.
