  • Hello ,

    My requirement :

    1. Database in SQL server .

    2. class library in c# .

    3. Services use between the applications to interact with Data  .

    4. Presentation may be Winform, Web and mobile (Window, Andriod, IOS) .

Right now I am planing :

    1. Create the database into Sql server .

    2. Using Entity framework by DB first approch .

    3. Create the repository for all entities .

Now here I am confused to achieve things ,

I want to create service and give this service to the Presentation , So what ever will be the presentation, they can able to interact with the data.

Can anybody help me to design its architecture, that how many projects needs to be create , which project reference need to added into which project  means layer wise .

  • I would consider using MVC Web Api as the service layer. This will allow pretty much any client to use it, and will be very easily aligned to ASP MVC. Although if you want to make use of the identity (Unit of Work) of the objects in entity framework you might want to consider a more direct communication (e.g. batch updates). However, I'm guessing that you (and I'm also guessing 90% of the world) do not want that, hence why I'm often a little sceptical of why people use Entity Framework.

  • HI,

Create restful WCF service to return data in JSON or XML , so that you can target different client like IOS/ Android / Windows

  • Web Api is the successor of WCF Rest services
