  • Hi all,

I'm working on sharepoint search feature in separate web appliation. So basically user logins to our site (using windows auth) and then can seach SharePoint from it.

Requirement is that search results should be limited to what this user allowed to see in SP.

SharePoint and our web site are not neccesarily on same server.

So one option would be to impersonate user in our web app using Kerberos and query SP Query Service.

Would in this case seach results limited to what impersonated user allowed to access in SharePoint?

Also, we probably wouldn't be allowed to change SP auth provider to Kerberos, so our app would have to query SP under some predefined identity of a user that have access to SP.

Question is - in this case is there a way to limit search results to the user that logined into our web app, given that we can't impersonate by him and know only his name?
