WindowsKernelModeDriver8.0 shows up as not installed after installing WDK8.0 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm trying to setup a CI server in TFS to build our drivers. All of our drivers currently make use of WDK8.0. I want to get things setup and built on my personal system before trying them on our server. However, I can't seem to get WindowsKernelModeDriver8.0 to show up in Visual Studio under the "Platform Toolset" setting. I have WDK 8 installed, and all of the files that were extracted from the download exists in C:\Program Files (x86)\Windows Kits\8.0. I have 8.1 and 10 installed on my system and VS only sees 8.1 and 10, not 8.0. Is there some trick for getting 8.0 to show up as installed?

I'm using Visual Studio 2017 Enterprise.

  • Yes VS2012 needs to be installed.  Your team is using the VS2015 GUI, and everything else is VS2012.
