MRDS c# Tutorial #1 Runtime Failure RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm running the July08 CTP of MSRDS and am trying to work through the tutorials. I tried Tutorial #1 which involves partnering with a touch sensor. I am using Visual Studio 2008 and built my Service app using New.Project rather than using the command line utility as suggested in the tutorial. this appeared to work fine. I also added the necessary DEBUG command line changes to reference the manifest for the LEGO.NXT touch sensor.

I've added the code from the sample (although there appears to be no LogGroup type any more?) and am able to compile without errors. When I run the app however I get an error reported in the command window, starting with the text:

*** Partner enumeration during service startup failed. Partner Name:http://schemas.gptg.net/2008/08/mrdstutorial1.html:bumper

I have no idea how to debug this; i.e., figure out the cause of the problem -- or even what steps I might take to gather additional information. I'm including below the entire command window text in the hope that someone can point me in the right direction.

I'm happy to zip the entire app folder structure and send it on if anyone would like to try to repro this.

******[Added in later edit.] NOTE: I get the same error if I run the MS supplied sample source code!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Bill
