[PHP][Web Apps] My WordPress site on Azure stopped working RRS feed

  • Question

  • I set up a demo WordPress site for a local community group. All went perfectly for some time, and then for no apparent reason, the site simply vanished! It is http://rclegion139.azurewebsites.net. There are many settings in the Management Portal, not too many of which I understand, and I am unsure what to try. I hooked at the files in console mode, and I can see what should be there, but the site is not visible on the web. How do I get some help in restoring it to visibility?

  • Hi,

Since this issue is related to Azure Web App, I will move to Azure Web App forum for a better help, thanks for your understanding.

The fiddler tool shows 'Internal Server Error' when access your WordPress site, it seems that this issue is caused by your site, I would suggest you follow this article to find out detailed error: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-gb/documentation/articles/web-sites-monitor/, hope this helps.

  • I renamed the thread to avoid confusion. Your Web App did not vanish, as it is still very much there in your account. Instead, it stopped working at runtime.

Please try following these troubleshooting steps to get more info about the error.

    thanks,
    David

  • You may have checked Azure Management Portal a lot of times. However, may I trouble you to check under "Websites" of Azure Management Portal to see if your site is still listed there?

    Cheers,
    Milton

  • Dear Milton:

Thank you for the offer to help. Under Web Apps in the Azure Management Portal, I see that I have three web sites listed. The other two work just fine. This one looks to be running, but nothing is visible. Is this what you are asking?

  • So far, not much success in resolving this issue. I have been able to use FileZilla to successfully get to the wwwroot folder (and below) in Azure. The files are there (except for .htaccess, which I cannot see) and everything in the Azure portal suggests the rclegion139.azurewebsites.net web site is running normally, except it still throws an internal server 500 error. I have followed the link below without success. Any further suggestions?

  • Looking at your site, it does not have a .user.ini file. Are you sure that you followed the steps described here? They will very likely work and give you a log file with errors. You may need to restart the site after creating the .user.ini file.
