Compiling Windows Store Apps. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Is it a must to have Visual Studio 2012 or 2013 to compile C++ apps and put it on the Windows Store? Can I use any other compiler like Code Blocks to compile apps?

  • It would be theoretically possible for CodeBlocks to support writing Windows Store apps, but you will need to check with them if they support it. I don't see any hint of this on their site.

If cost is your concern Visual Studio 2013 Express is available at no charge.
