Ranking functionality in LINQ to SQL RRS feed

Does anyone know of a way to get LINQ to SQL to perform ranking functionality, for example RANK() OVER(PARTITION BY something)?  I can get around it in my case by using First() in my subquery but that generates another level of nesting in sql syntax and uses a top statement.  I'd really like to get back groups that contain a rank column based on the partition criteria but I haven't been able to find any examples of this being done.  Thoughts?
